Teenage Fanclub Shares ‘Day in the Sun’
New LP, Do Not Dare To Dream, out Oct. 9

Scottish power pop legends Teenage Fanclub are back with a new album due out this fall called Do Not Dare To Dream.
Scheduled for release Oct. 9, this is the Fannies’ lucky 13th studio effort and sixth on Southern indie rock powerhouse Merge Records. A seamless follow-up to 2023’s lauded Nothing Lasts Forever, these 10 new songs continue to find the band continuing to refine its enduring blend of melody, harmony and electricity that’s been their lot in life since A Catholic Education dropped all those years ago.

Recorded on the remote Scottish island Great Bernera, DNDTD stands as a testament to the strength of this current lineup of the Fannies as well, composedq of founding members Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley alongside longtime allies Euros Childs, Francis Macdonald and David McGowan.
As Blake puts it, “I think what happens is you just move from one thing into the next and before you know it, 30 years have passed.
McGinley adds, “Yeah, it’s been a while since we started doing this thing we do, but to us it feels like no time at all. In the place where we made the record people would have been singing thousands of years ago. Life is short, but music is eternal.”
