LISTEN: Duane Hoover Delivers Us From ‘Nowhere’
New album, Magic Mirror Story Book, out now

Not even eight months removed from his last LP Wayward Path, Duane Hoover is back like a bolt of lightning with its freshly released follow-up, Magic Mirror Story Book.
Recorded in Duane’s home studio and produced by the man himself, this new album — Hoover’s second solo offering — captures an electric-acoustic warmth that differs from its predecessor — more Robyn Hitchcock than Robin Zander.
And perhaps no other track on Magic Mirror Story Book is more emblematic of the album’s personality than “Nowhere,” which Rock & Roll Globe is proud to share with our readers today on the site.
“This song was a delve into the strength of simplicity,” explains Hoover. “It’s based on a simple guitar riff that goes throughout the song as an answer back to the vocal (The riff comes right out of the Mick Ronson songbook). There is a distinct leaning to Bob Dylan on the vocal approach. ‘Nowhere’ might sound negative at first. But actually it’s about someone striving and coming up empty. It’s a defiant fight through obstacles which we all face in life. Some people buckle and give up and some continue to fight. So I explore all those feelings, the frustration of not getting anywhere but still trying.”
