Rock & Roll Globe is commemorating the 60th anniversary of The Beatles’ Revolver (released Aug. 5, 1966) with one of the coolest giveaways we’ve ever done.

Drawn by the great Drew Friedman and exclusively licensed by Rock & Roll Globe, we will mail it to you for free in an envelope that uses a rare John Lennon “Forever” stamp from the 2018 collection (while supplies last).
The stamp artwork features the photo of Lennon taken by the great Bob Gruen for the Walls and Bridges album (1974).
Our company accumulated a ton of these stamps during the COVID-19 pandemic when we were trying to lift the world’s spirits by giving readers guitar picks and T-shirts and other stuff.
We got about 30,000 responses, which was amazing, but to our horror we discovered that all that traffic and clicking really benefited Facebook, rather than building lasting readership for the great writing and insights available every single day on RockAndRollGlobe.com.

Our small independent media company has chosen a path of real writing and zero AI. If that model has any chance at survival, it’ll be because people with similar values support it.

Oddly enough, Revolver is probably the least Lennon-influenced of all Beatles albums, at least when considering the North American version. For insane reasons related to record companies not knowing shit and disrespecting artists, Capitol omitted “I’m Only Sleeping,” “And Your Bird Can Sing” and “Doctor Robert” from the version of Revolver released in North America. Those are three of the greatest John compositions ever. And leaving them off also destabilized the record into three George songs, six Paul songs and only “She Said She Said” and “Tomorrow Never Knows” as the remaining Lennon tracks.
Our giveaway honors the real Revolver, the 14 song Parlophone version, which became the standard version when the album was finally released on CD in 1987.

I spoke to John Lennon on the phone (briefly!) in 1969 when he was in Montreal doing his 2nd bed-in for peace, and I met him once (briefly!) in Central Park in NYC in the early 1970’s. Also, I’m a musician (piano/vocal) and on Dec 8, 1980 I was in the middle of singing “IMAGINE” at my solo gig in a Hartford, CT club when someone came in and told us that John had been killed……
All of this is just amazing.

I received my free drawing and stamp a couple of days ago. Pretty cool!
I transferred to submarine base new london in groton Connecticut in May 1990 for submarine school. On one of our weekends off several if us road attract to NYC and we stayed at the soldiers, sailors, and airmen’s club located at 40 th and Lexington Ave where we paid $20 to stay the night at this hotel. The next day we went down to battery park and then walked nothword, where in Soho we went into am art gallery where they were the authorized seller of John Lennon lithograph. I was tell my friend how Yoko ono had just auctioned off the pair of glasses John Lennon was wearing when he was shot, for like $100k. Well the curator opened her mouth amd said ” the person that bought then are a friend of mine and they are so happy to have them in their collection ” and that’s when I shouted back , yea she’s just a greedy bitch digging for more money and that’s not what John Lennon was about! Well we were asked to leave after I expressed my feelings about her selling his glasses. 😀
I hope I am chosen. I would love to get an addition to my memorabilia collection.

Beatles have been my life. As a preteen and into my 70s, I’ve collected memorabilia, listened to their music, loved their videos. movies, cartoons, and even attended Paul’s & Ringo’s tours. My first concert ever 1966, my older sister drove me to Canada to Maple leaf Gardens to see the Beatles. Memory of a lifetime. Love ❤️ the Beatles. Yeah. Yeah, Yeah.
