Funk-forward indie rockers Five Door Sedan from Charleston, South Carolina, are one of the region’s fastest rising emerging acts.

Boasting a jazzy, soulful pop sound that fans of both Steely Dan and Hall and Oates will undoubtedly appreciate, the band continues to evolve and grow with the release of their funk-laced new single “Everything,” the video of which you can check out below. Fans of instrumental Beasties, Stevie Ray Vaughan and MMW, lend an ear.

The band shares, “‘Everything’ started as a collection of stories about the kind of relationship that leaves you constantly bracing for impact. No matter how calm things seem, there’s always a feeling that the other shoe is about to drop. Instead of turning it into a sad breakup song, we leaned into the absurdity of it all. The result is a funky, tongue-in-cheek track about chaos, frustration, and survival — and probably the most danceable song we’ve ever written about a complete train wreck.”

“Everything” serves as the latest preview of the band’s highly anticipated second full-length album, due out October 2026. The upcoming record will continue to expand on Five Door Sedan’s evolving sound, balancing carefully crafted songwriting with the spontaneity and energy that have become hallmarks of their live shows.

In support of the new release, Five Door Sedan will continue touring throughout 2026, playing all sorts of different venues along the East Coast.
