Ward Richmond Sings of ‘The Good Things’
Latest album, Spaciousness, out now
Not too many singer-songwriters can sell you retail space inside a bustling shopping center.
But Ward Richmond is no regular troubadour. This Dallas, TX-based artist might sell commercial real estate on the side, but he’s an artist first. And through his songs, he was able to see the other side of a crippling addiction.
“Today, I view my addiction issue as one of my greatest strengths,” he proclaims. “It has undoubtedly put me through hell at times, but it has also served me as a powerful catalyst for humility, manifestation and evolution.”
He channels this healing energy through the songs he’s crafted for his powerful new album, Spaciousness.
Recorded over the last two years at Modern Electric Sound Recorders in Dallas, Texas with producer Jason Burt (Leon Bridges, John Mayer), the album presents Richmond continuing on his journey toward inner peace in warm, varied tones.
“Spaciousness, to me, is the energetic frequency that represents a hybrid of peace, balance and abundance,” Richmond explains.

“I wrote this song after what I call my ’12 Nonstop Dark Days of the Soul’ during which time I conversated with God about how to live life to the fullest,” Richmond tells us.
Spaciousness, which is out now, is a cool album for people who flip-flopped between TNN and MTV in the ‘90s.
“We’ve got some shredding Nashville-style guitar picking throughout, which is a nod to my love of old school country music, Willie, Waylon and the boys,” he explains. “It also has the 90’s vibes with nods to Sublime, Rancid, Eels, Cake, Green Day, Cracker, Weezer, Blink 182 and NOFX, if I had to pick nine. I don’t know if it will make sense to anyone else, but it is basically a sound of putting all of my Spotify playlists all into a blender.”
