On his 15th studio LP, Here Come The Dowsers, L.A. song auteur and Rock & Roll Globe fave Ward White continues to mine classic Hollywood for his muse.

His first title with Think Like A Key Music, White utilizes the elasticity of his sonic range to fashion a compelling song cycle woven together with character studies that expose the grit beneath the glamour of Tinseltown. A-list collaborators include Grammy®-winner and Golden Globe®-nominee, John Spiker (Tenacious D, Beck, Beth Orton), Grammy®-winner, Tyler Chester (Madison Cunningham, Andrew Bird, Jackson Browne), and Mark Stepro (The Wallflowers, Butch Walker, Ben Kweller).

“If you’re a cinephile living in L.A., the Hollywood ecosystem reveals itself on a more human scale,” White tells Rock & Roll Globe. “I’ve done quite a bit of writing for characters on previous albums, but this is the first time they’ve been linked by such specific connective tissue. I wanted to sidestep typical Hollywood Babylon territory, focusing instead on an ensemble cast whose motivations, anxieties, and daily disappointments have changed very little since the first bean field became a backlot.”

“Continuity,” a tune about a conundrum concerning a ‘70s stuntman, is the first single from Here Come The Dowsers, and Rock & Roll Globe is happy to share it with our readers.

“Continuity concerns the existential crisis of Burt Reynolds’ stunt double, whose custom elevator shoes have been purloined by a disgruntled hotel porter/aspiring actor,” he explains of the song. “Rather than clocking in for work the following morning, the aggrieved employee, and Burt devotee, uses the stolen shoes to make the height requirement for an open call in a Reynolds vehicle filming in town.”

Here Come The Dowsers will be released on May 17th.
