The Racing Pulses to Release Free Album on Record Store Day

The Racing Pulses will release free live album CD The Racing Pulses Live at WORT FM on Record Store Day 2025.

The surprise announcement is not an official RSD release, but physical copies of the album will be available at select independent retailers. Those who purchase music from record stores on Record Store Day will receive free copies of the Live at WORT FM while supplies last.

The Racing Pulses are dropping physical CD copies of a new live album on April 12th in honor of Record Store Day 2025, which will be distributed through select independent record stores when customers make purchases from the stores. Recorded at Madison, WI community radio station 89.9 WORT-FM in June of  2024, this is a meaningful for the Wisconsin-based act.

“Where we call home now has been good to us, and it feels fitting to record new approaches to old songs there and share them with the fans. When DJ Slimzy invited me to his Sonic Signatures show, it was a no brainer.” frontman Kristian Petrov Iliev commented.

The recordings were separated out from the show, which also included an interview between host DJ Slimzy and the band. This is not the first time the project has released a live recording (a live Daytrotter session in Davenport, Iowa and a DZ Records appearance in Illinois have been authorized and released in the past), but it is by far the longest official live collection to be shared with fans: “King or Pawn?” and “Go, Forward!” are just two of the eleven tracks it contains.

Longtime project drummer Mike Newby designed the cover art from a concept Iliev shared with him, and WORT-FM radio station engineer Aaron Scholz oversaw the recording session.

The next concert The Racing Pulses have scheduled is at Madison’s Olbrich Botanical Gardens on April 11th.
