LISTEN: Alessandra Rose Shares Stream of New Album
RODEOMOTHH, the second solo LP from Seattle singer, due out this Friday

The stability of motherhood in post-pandemic America provides the template for the second solo album of Alessandra Rose, former lead singer of the Seattle rock group The Kindness Kind.
RODEOMOTHH was recorded at Sputnik Sound in Nashville, TN, with Grammy-winning producer / engineer Mitch Dane (The Blind Boys of Alabama). In addition to Rose on vocals and acoustic guitar, the record features guitarist Courtlan Clement (Marc Bourssard), Kevin Whitsett (Sam Williams) on bass, drummer Paul Eckberg (Amy Grant) and Charlie Lowell (Jars of Clay) on piano and synth. It was mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Vance Powell (Chris Stapleton, Jack White).
Thematically, the secret to RODEOMOTHH is hidden in its name.
“It’s an anagram of motherhood” explains Rose. “Every song tells a part of my journey of being a mother.”
Listening to RODEOMOTHH, one can easily hear elements of her Pacific Northwest roots in the sound Rose and her compatriots have constructed here. Echoes of late-period Alice in Chains and the solo work of Chris Cornell can be heard across key songs like “Electric Heart” and “Punch to the Lungs.” In fact, you can listen to the whole album below and relish in its majesty a couple of days before it gets officially released this Friday.

“In January of 2022, I knew I needed to record,” Rose tells Rock & Roll Globe about the creation of RODEOMOTHH. “There was no stopping me. I was determined to write songs, fly to Nashville and work with producer Mitch Dane at Sputnik Sound. Everyone who knows me knows I love the art of recording and performing live. I lived and breathed those two things in Seattle in my 20’s. When I fell in love and had a baby at 27 I put all my focus on her, and then him years later. I put ten years of my truest identity on hold because I couldn’t compete emotionally and physically with my children’s needs and how I knew best to mother them.
“When the world became a little more gentle in 2022 I took the opportunity to chase my wild heart and wrote song after song. I knew the stories I wanted to share. Songs that embrace relationships, deciding to have children, staying in love with your partner, staying in love with yourself, the hope you are making all the right choices so your kids are going to be alright, and fighting for the sense of freedom and empowerment by knowing what you want.
“Recording RODEOMOTHH was a dream, I floated, there were no deep quakes, no uncertainty- it was ten beautiful days making and feeling impact by the soundscapes I had envisioned while writing these songs alone at all hours of the day just a few months before. Mitch set me up for success. I flew back to Seattle knowing I could go and do the next thing, the best thing, play my songs live. Without taking chances at a young age I wouldn’t have made the choice to be a mother, something I honestly thought would never be a reality… and without them I wouldn’t be here saying it’s never too late, and you’re never too old to be your truest self. I fly so they can fly.”
RODEOMOTHH comes out October 20th on all available streaming platforms.
