Fire In Her Eyes is a London-based psych-folk project born out of sisterhood and survival.

The group just released the first single from their forthcoming debut LP Look to the Sky, which will be released in early 2026 through Creation Youth Records, the label run by British music biz legends Alan McGee and Martin “Youth” Glover, who produced the sessions.

Rock & Roll Globe is honored to share with readers the story about how the album came together, told by FIHE co-founder Daniella “Topaz” Livingstone (who leads the group alongside her sister Natasha).

Our debut album Look into the Sky was born during lockdown. I (Topaz) spent long hours on the roof, gazing over the garden and distant fields where the first ideas began to take shape.

As the world reopened and we prepared to record, life took an unexpected turn: I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. I spent the next year in and out of UCLH, with Natasha by my side every step of the way. Many of our songs were written in my hospital room on a small keyboard, including “Juggling Clown” and “Sooner or Later.” That’s where the album’s central message emerged: even in darkness, light can be found.

By summer 2022, I had completed intensive chemotherapy and was finally discharged. We invited our friends Raoul to play drums, Rodrigo to play guitar and sitar, and brought in other session musicians as well. Soon we were performing at celebrated venues such as the Leighton House Museum — where Jimmy Page attended and praised our songwriting — and the Brighton Dome Concert Hall.

In early 2023, we recorded 12 tracks at Crescent Studios in Swindon. Although those sessions were inspiring, we felt the production needed to better reflect our vision. We reached out to renowned producer Youth (The Verve, Paul McCartney, The Orb), a longtime acquaintance from session work. After hearing the material, Youth immediately offered to help shape the record.

Over the following months, he provided songwriting and production guidance while we continued writing — most notably during a creative retreat in Tenerife, where we composed the singles “Too Late to Change,” “He Cries,” and “Passers By.”

In December 2024, we spent two transformative weeks in Youth’s studio, completing 14 tracks and creating a sonic journey that captures the entire arc of our experience.

Now, with a licensing deal from Creation Youth Records — led by Alan McGee (who famously signed Oasis) and Youth — our album is set for release in early 2026.

Reflecting on lost love and questioning whether it can be rekindled, Fire In Her Eyes drives you through multilayered melodies, rich harmonies and radiating chords. All from an idea that transpired in five minutes. No wonder Jimmy Page is keen on these ladies — they really capture the purity of classic English folk in a way not unlike Led Zeppelin did in the ’70s.
