Denver-based jamtronica outfit Lotus is back just in time for the fall college semester with a killer new album, Bloom & Recede, out on August 26th.

And Rock & Roll Globe is honored to premiere the latest single from the record–the Santana-gone-Dubstep mover “Transfixed”–this morning on the site.

“‘Transfixed’ brings together a number of different musical elements in a combination that feels very unique to Lotus,” explains co-leader Jesse Miller. “The big, stab synth chords and swinging hats remind me of 90s house tracks, but with a signature Lotus guitar melody on top. The noise elements, pitched and chopped vocals bits and dubbed out drum breaks recall gritty UK dubstep like Burial. Then the rising lead guitar and outro percussion bring me right into the middle of a live Lotus show. It is a musical journey that feels right at home as the first track on the final side of the vinyl.”

Also, Lotus will once again host their Summerdance festival in 2022. The event takes place Labor Day Weekend, September 2 – 4 at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Garrettsville, OH, where the group will be performing all three nights along with such fellow travelers as Octave Cat, 5AM Trio and Chalk Dino among others.
