WATCH: Close Talker Releases New Single “Tall Boy”
The Canadian trio’s fourth album, The Sprawl, out March 22

Close Talker is a band whose name may or may not be a reference to Judge Reinhold’s character in Seinfeld.
But regardless of their nomenclature, this indie pop trio from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan have spent the last 10 years establishing themselves as one of Canada’s most creative young bands.
And in 2024, Close Talker is ready for its closeup with the upcoming release of their fourth album, The Sprawl, which will be out on March 22nd via Slow Weather Music. It’s a work that strongly reflects the growth Will, Matthew and Chris have experienced as both musicians and men now in their early 30s.

The music on The Sprawl feels closer to the band’s Canadian prairie roots, with songs that illustrate the region’s reverence for nostalgia and apprehension to change. Consider this Close Talker’s Led Zeppelin III, if that makes sense. Or better yet, their Sky Blue Sky.
Rock & Roll Globe is excited to premiere the video for the album’s lovely third single, “Tall Boy,” today on the site.
“For ‘Tall Boy’, we wanted to capture a performance that feels together, even though we’re all currently living in different places – including our good friend Wyatt C. Louis who is featured on vocals,” the band explains. “We recorded separately in each of our own living rooms, and the song and video came together very comfortably. Our director Dale Bailey compiled the takes and contrasted it against footage of their documentary, All Aboard.”
