Alt-rock greats the Juliana Hatfield Three are heading back on the road this autumn to celebrate the belated 30th anniversary of their classic album Become What You Are.

The trio, comprised of bassist Dean Fisher, drummer Todd Philips and Hatfield on guitar and vocals, will be performing the 1993 LP in full along with material from its 2015 follow-up Whatever, My Love, as the opening act for longtime pals Soul Asylum. I’m sure they’ll break out “Spin the Bottle” from the Reality Bites soundtrack as well.

“This is a 30th-ISH anniversary tour,” Philips tells Rock & Roll Globe. “We’re kind of like cicadas, but we can’t get the timing right of when we’re supposed to be done gestating. I blame Dean, for no good reason. Hopefully the shows will be so much fun that nobody cares that we’re a year late.”

The North American tour begins in Boulder, CO, on September 30th and wraps up on November 1st in Rutland, VT. See below for a full itinerary.

No news on any studio activity involving the Juliana Hatfield Three at press time. Hatfield’s last solo LP of original material was 2021’s acclaimed Blood, while her most recent release was last year’s Juliana Hatfield Sings ELO
