John Mellencamp Announces New Album

Orpheus Descending due out June 2

John Mellencamp has a new album coming out called Orpheus Descending that’s set for release June 2 via Republic Records. 

In anticipation of the upcoming record, Mellencamp is sharing the album track “Hey God,” which you can check out below.

Orpheus Descending is Mellencamp’s 25th album, produced by the former Cougar himself at his own Belmont Mall Studio. Its also one of his most personal records to date, with standout tracks “Hey God” and “The Eyes of Portland” focusing on social issues Mellencamp has been advocating for since the 1980s, including gun violence and the apathy towards mass shootings.

Mellencamp is currently in the midst of his massive Live and In Person 2023 North American tour, with dates running through June 27 including stops in New York City, Nashville, Philadelphia, Boston and other cities, where he is currently performing songs from the new LP during his live set.
