VIDEO: Gringo Star Shares “Count The Ways”
New album, Sweethearts, out May 2

Gringo Star are back with their second post-COVID LP, Sweethearts, which hits stores this Friday, May 2.
For the Atlanta band’s eighth album, the boys have taken a shine to the melancholy sounds of Ricky Nelson, Roy Orbison and Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs, whose 1966 hit “Little Red Riding Hood” they cover here.
In fact, one of the best songs on Sweethearts actually serves as the record’s third single “Count The Ways.”
“‘Count the Ways,’ is a 1950s inspired song that conveys the importance of perseverance and maintaining a positive outlook in the face of contemporary life’s uncertainties,” explains group co-founder Peter Furgiuele. “Warm, glowing analogue tones, playful guitar riffs and dreamy background vocals contribute to the song’s unique sound.”

Rock & Roll Globe is honored to premiere the video for “Count The Ways” today on the site, charmed by the clip’s noble attempt to bring the age-old art of clowning back from the nightmare depths of Pennywise and John Wayne Gacy.
“We’ve always taken a liking to circus-related themes and clowns and what they represent with their happy front and hidden sad side, and we thought this song was the perfect vibe to fit with that theme with its melancholy tone,” said Furgiuele. “We wanted to have something a little lighthearted to counter the seriousness of the song. Was a little hard to convince everybody to put on makeup but was quite a blast once we got going.”
