WATCH: Kerry Charles Shares Video For “I Live Alone”
Debut album, I Think Of You, due out April 14th

In the spirit of Beck Hansen and Sean Na Na, New Jersey’s own Kerry Charles expertly pairs his soft rock futurism with a healthy helping of cool kitsch.
In fact, Charles extolled his appreciation for nostalgic ephemera by accompanying his debut LP I Think Of You with ‘Love Moves’ – a limited-edition romantic card game that acts as a companion piece to the LP and its themes of love and romance.
The album, which glistens with Kerry’s affinities for both Steely Dan and Prince with equal aplomb, doesn’t come out until April 14th via the Grind Select label. But Rock & Roll Globe is proud to premiere the video for its latest single “I Live Alone” today on the site.

When pressed about the story behind the video, Mr. Charles issued this statement to us:
“The video for ‘I Live Alone’ (directed by Zach Trebino) offers a tongue-in-cheek commentary on the insular and consumeristic lifestyles we’ve adopted in our post-pandemic world.
“It focuses on a character shut in at home, obsessively buying products from an infomercial network (KCC – The Kerry Charles Channel); ‘A Glass Of Class’ wine, ‘Gut Plug’ meal replacements, ‘Tropical Milk’ Cocktail Mix, and a ‘Date Night Kit’ that viewers may recognize from a previous music video [link to Seal it With a Kiss].
“I appear as the channel spokesperson, eagerly hawking the products which were all designed and fabricated in the real world by producer Peter English and art director Lenore Romas.

“As the video progresses, our protagonist begins to imagine what life might be like outside of their bubble, but the gravitational pull of the couch is just too strong to resist and they are ultimately sucked back into my infomercial fantasy.”
This is indeed a weird and incredibly funny video, while the song itself proves that Kerry Charles has compositional skills serious enough to keep things as silly hearted as he wants.
