WATCH: Oregon’s Leadbetter Band Shares “Cake”
The neo AOR trio’s new album of the same name is out now

Bend, Oregon-based Leadbetter Band recently released their third full-length album, Cake, March 4th on all streaming platforms.
Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Eric Leadbetter, bassist/vocalist Aaron Moore, and drummer Kaleb Kelleher, the power trio crafts a modern spin on classic AOR from the 1970s that’s on full display across this nine-track LP.
Recorded at Temple of the Trees in Seattle, Washington with legendary engineer and producer Joe Reineke, the Leadbetter Band follows up their 2019 self-titled debut and 2021’s Howl with Cake, which furthers the band’s songwriting prowess while, thanks to Reineke, adds depth and layers to the recordings.
“[Reineke] took the songs and tones to new heights,” exclaims Leadbetter, discussing the album. “He challenged us and really brought the heat with this album.”

Rock & Roll Globe is honored to premiere the video for the title track to Cake today on the site, a boogie ripping tune that reminds one of Led Zeppelin or the Jeff Beck Group with maybe even a touch of Mark Lanegan in there as well.
“We really had fun with this uptempo bluesy cruiser tune! The song is about living your best life while chasing your dreams,” Leadbetter explains. “We decided to do this as the music video and title track from the album, because it is a great representation of what our drive and vibe is all about. The location of the video was the Tumalo Reservoirs old abandoned dam house. Super Erie tale of how all the settlers in the area were promised a great farm community but when they arrived all the water from the lake had drained into the landscapes many lava tubes, leaving many settlers angry and feeling duped.”
