WATCH: Chicago’s Ohvaur Share Video for “Altered Endings”

After a ten-year absence, Chicago’s Ohvaur are back with an incredible new album, Intertwined, which comes out on October 18th.

Produced by the legendary Matt Wallace with assistance from Faith No More bassist Bill Gould, the album’s central theme is one concentrated on the idea of endings and how people cope with death, divorce and one’s own mortality.

“We’d like to think that the album ultimately is a celebration of life before each of these ‘endings,’” explains frontman Timothy Den.

Rock & Roll Globe is excited to premiere the beautifully crafted video for the album’s second single, “Altered Endings,” today on the site.

“This might be my favorite song on the album,” Den explains of the track, which addresses the concept of unfulfilled destinies. “It was co-written with my songwriting ‘soulmate’ since high school, Evan Rifas, who also sings much of the harmonies on it.

“We jokingly say that this song is our Everything Everywhere All At Once, cuz it tackles the same question: Who would we be had we made different decisions ,— either enormous or inconsequential — at certain points in our lives? Where would those paths have led us? I’ve often wondered who I would’ve been had I not immigrated across three continents. The video, directed by Heath Metzger (drummer extraordinaire of Mock Orange), illustrates the idea by having the two characters represent separate realities, vaguely aware of each other through a sense of ‘phantom yearning,’ and perhaps even co-existing in one of the possible realities.”
