Rhino Unveils 24 Titles for its Sounds of the Summer Campaign
Recordings by Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, The Grateful Dead, Hall & Oates and more to get new vinyl releases

There’s a lot of new people out there wondering what vinyl to buy when they are digging around inside one of the many independent record stores peppering these United States.
Well, thank your friends at Rhino for making the hunt easier for those too busy to spend hours on their knees sifting through milk crates of dusty wax with their Sounds of the Summer series. Each Friday in July, the legendary catalog arm of Warner Music will be dropping limited edition vinyl exclusives through the end of the month, totaling 24 different titles in all.
Included amongst the avalanche of acetate are some pretty classic and unexpected choices from the likes of Crosby, Stills and Nash, Genesis, The Grateful Dead, Warren Zevon, Linda Ronstadt, The Doobie Brothers, Jimmy Cliff, Rod Stewart, Yes, War, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Little Feat and Chicago.
Also being introduced as part of this campaign is the Now Playing series, a newly compiled set of Best Of collections from such Warner catalog acts as Sonny & Cher, George Benson, Al Stewart, Van Morrison, Todd Rundgren’s Utopia and Hall & Oates. There’s also a Various Artists compilation called Summer Sounds.
With the exception of Jimmy Cliff (on transparent red vinyl) and Joni Mitchell (on clear vinyl), the rest of these 24 releases have been pressed on 140-gram Sea Blue Vinyl (save for Warren Zevon at 180-gram double wax), and will be available exclusively at physical record shops while supplies last.
