Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Billboard Hot 100 our way
This past week, Billboard celebrated the 60th anniversary of its Hot 100 singles chart, perhaps the single most important informational timetable in tracking the evolutionary rollercoaster of trends that have defined pop music since 1958. In lieu of a weak new release schedule this weekend, the Rock ‘n Roll Globe instead pays homage to the Billboard Hot 100 with this Playlist of 20 or so songs featured on the chart the week of August 6, 1988.
