Robbie Robertson, The Yankees, the Empire State Building and more celebrate the heavenly milestone birthday of Jerry Garcia
Jerry Garcia would have made a great 80-year-old man.
He always had such a wizened quality to him, like he was always older than his actual age suggested. It’s impossible to imagine he was only 53 when he died on August 9, 1995, leaving an entire nation of Deadheads bereft by a loss that still haunts fans today.
Going through our Twitter feed today, we are reminded of the significant footprint left by Jerry during his time on this planet given the sheer magnitude of his influence in just about every aspect of creative music.
Here’s a sampling of what we found.
We hope you celebrated today by listening to some of your favorite Jerry/Dead music. See what we were diving into on the commute to work today below.
Happy Birthday up there, Captain Trips!
