Bartees Strange Guitarist Daniel Kleederman Releases Single
Debut album, Another Life, out April 4

As the guitarist for Bartees Strange, Daniel Kleederman has been helping redefine the sound of indie rock for the 2020s.
But in his quieter moments, Kleederman has been working up to his own full-length release, co-produced with longtime musical partner, Chris Connors (Bartees Strange, Holy Hive) called Another Life, which is coming out Friday, April 4 via Grand Kid Records.
Crafting a sound that pulls from Jeff Buckley’s Grace, John Martyn’s Solid Air and The Beatles’ Revolver, the LP was cut in Kleederman’s homeland of Western Massachusetts with Connors and drummer and former Vassar College roommate, Alex Goldberg (L’Rain, Cassandra Jenkins, Jessica Pratt).

Rock & Roll Globe is honored to share the brilliant opening track to Another Life today on the site, “A Knock At The Door,” a song that slowly builds into a soulful crescendo of magnificent, serpentine guitar playing.
“’A Knock at the Door’ honors the sacred moment of a separation, the beauty and the pain,” Kleederman, who works as a certified life coach by day, tells us of the tune. “The strong juxtaposition between the verse and chorus mirror the effortful task of finding one’s words, and the hidden, guiding, flight-like ease of letting go into knowingness. This song features particularly beautiful bass playing by Chris Connors, along with dueting guitars (left — Chris, right — me) and dream-come-true (for me) 4-part harmony featuring Kate Victor, myself, Chris Connors and Kyle Morgan).”
Fans of Kleederman’s work with Bartees Strange should most definitely check out what his guitarist is doing on his own: a deeply personal sonic journey that is rich in collaboration and pure musicianship.
Kleederman will be performing at TV Eye in the Ridgewood section of Queens, New York, to celebrate the release of Another Life on April 2.
