International Noise Rock Supergroup Buñuel Kick Off 2026 North American Tour

Month-long trek starts today in Denver

Buñuel, the international noise rock supergroup led by Oxbow’s Eugene S. Robinson, is currently kicking off their second North American tour today with a gig at Hi Dive in Denver, Colorado.

The band, rounded out by guitarist Xabier Iriondo (Afterhours, A Short Apnea), bassist David Haemery (Sordide), and drummer Frank Valente (Il Teatro Degli Orrori), will be performing material from their 2024 debut LP Mansuetude, which features cameos from such luminaries of loudness as Jacob Bannon of Converge, Jesus Lizard guitarist Duane Denison and Megan Osztrosits of Couch Slut. Supporting the band on most dates are fellow SKiN GRAFT labelmates Squid Pisser.

“Getting America all in one shot these days? An impossibility but the western states seem well poised for BUNUEL’s winter jaunt. Especially since the set in its entirety is full of songs steeped in California criminality,” Robinson tells Rock & Roll Globe. “Playing live with Buñuel — especially after moving beyond the shadow of the dead Oxbow — seems necessary and revivifying in some ways. It’ll be great touring again. With a van. Full of guns. Which is our habit when we tour America. You know…when in Rome…”

According to Robinson, this will be Buñuel’s final run touring in support of Mansuetude before they begin work on new material.

“These are the last tranche of shows we’re planning on doing in North America on Mansuetude,” he explains. “Beyond? Asia and South America wait…but mostly, the next party will be Slow Danger, the next Buñuel record because we’re strange that way. Can’t let go of one branch until we have our hands on the next one. Like chimps.”
